A profile of the Omnifone management team

Jim Feeney - Chairman
Omnifone's Chairman, Jim Feeney, has served as Chairman and non-executive director of both quoted and unquoted companies, chiefly in the technology sector but also in mining and renewable energy. In his earlier career he was CEO of the Hoskyns Group (now Capgemini) where under his management the company grew sales for 7 consecutive years. Feeney previously worked with Lewis, Sant and Knight and helped organise the sale of Cromwell Media for £850 million. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

Rob Lewis - Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Rob Lewis is CEO and co-founder of is Europe's leading direct-to-mobile unlimited music download service provider, Omnifone. Rob is responsible for the rollout of MusicStation the award winning all-you-can-eat mobile music service and MusicStation Max, the world’s first pre-licensed unlimited music phone. Rob is PwC UK Technology, Innovation & Growth Awards 2008 Entrepreneur of the Year. Lewis previously founded Business & Technology Magazine (later sold to Dennis Publishing) and along with Omnifone co-founders Phil Sant and Mark Knight, founded the successful internet software developer Cromwell Media (sold to InterX for £850m in March 2000) and was founder CEO of Silicon.com (sold to NASDAQ-listed CNET Networks) and its sister companies Paris-based Silicon.fr and Munich-based Silicon.de. Omnifone has offices in London,Scotland, Sweden, Hong Kong and South Africa.

Phil Sant - Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Phil has a long history of successful entrepreneurship in the technology sector. Starting his career at Rolls Royce, where he headed the development of pioneering computer aided manufacturer design software, he has continued to be at the forefront of cutting edge innovation systems design for nearly twenty years. With Knight he ran the former Compaq Tiger Team and was later co-founder of Cromwell Media, which was sold in March 2000 for £850m. In June 2000, Phil Sant won the prestigious "Entrepreneur of the Year" Award for Technology & Communications.

Mark Knight - Chief Architect

Over the past twenty five years, software pioneer Mark Knight has been responsible for developing several major new technologies and products within the software marketplace. Of particular note was his authorship of the world's first ever commercial word processor for a portable device, Jotter, on the two line Psion Organiser. Knight has also developed world-leading software within the flight simulation, communication, finance, and publishing and distribution sectors. Knight was formerly a member of Compaq's Tiger Team and was the Chief Architect at online specialist Cromwell Media, which was sold in March 2000 for £850m.

Steve Pocock - Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Steve has been at the forefront of software engineering for over a decade, including his works at GDS, the Cambridge-based graphics software products company, where he ran product development adding complex raster and satellite imagery functionality to the company's industry leading vector graphics CAD/GIS product. In the mid-90s, Steve was also part of the Persimmon IT project, a Cambridge start-up at the cutting edge of very early stage internet technologies. Steve joined Rob Lewis, Phil Sant and Mark Knight when Omnifone was founded in 2003 and runs Omnifone's Research & Development arm.

James White - Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

James was previously Finance Director at the legendary Island Records. Following its sale to Universal Music Group, James was one of the shining stars at Universal, the world's largest music label. James has had a focus on digital music since the very beginning, particularly whilst in his role as Planning and Analysis Director of Universal Music. James joined the board of Omnifone mid 2006.

David Loiterton - Director, Asia Pacific

David heads up the company's commercialisation of MusicStation in Asia. David is one of the most experienced entertainment executives in Asia, with 20 years in artist management, recorded music, music publishing, live entertainment, marketing and A&R, online & mobile entertainment, and video games. Originally a Sydney-based lawyer, David worked in artist management with superstar artist INXS for 7 years in the mid-80's, helped set up and then ran rooArt Records, Australia's premier independent record label in the early 90's, and built BMG's Asia Pacific music publishing business in the mid-90's. David also founded Gogo.com in 1999, a 360 degree online music company pioneering online A&R, artist communities and CRM. In 2002, he joined Universal Music to run their strategic marketing & sales across Asia, including catalogue, brand partnerships, and new format development. He joined the Omnifone team in October 2006.

Warren Carley - Director, EMEA

Having completed a military career, Warren has spent the last 12 years at the leading edge of mobile and internet communications. Initially with Vodafone as a founding member of the Corporate Data Solutions team, developing GPS based products and productivity packages that are still used sold to corporate business today. He has since consulted for and led mobile or web projects for Compaq, Sony, TXU and NHS Trusts. In 2002, with Pogo Technology, he successfully took to market the worlds first Macromedia (Adobe) Flash™ based GSM handset that incorporated a rich, high speed internet browser and ‘over the air’ web based data synchronization and in February 2006 Warren was part of the management team that successfully listed the mobile media company MobileStreams Plc. on AIM. Warren joined Omnifone in December 2006 and heads Omnifone’s commercial operations within the EMEA region.
