  • Shamil Chandaria

    Dr Shamil Chandaria is Non-Executive Chairman of Omnifone's Board of Directors. Dr Chandaria is also Group Chairman and Partner of Amplitude Capital, winner of the HFR award for best European managed futures hedge fund in 2007 and 2009 Barron's Hedge Fund 100. He is also Chairman and partner of Ocean Capital - a structured asset finance company. Dr Chandaria has a portfolio of several technology companies including: IP-Only, a telecom operator in Sweden with a fibre network around Scandinavia. Dr Chandaria was previously a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank for eight years where he ran Structured Capital Markets and DB Investor where he managed a $25bn portfolio of the Bank's proprietary holdings. Before that he was a director at Barclays Capital.

  • Jeff Hughes

    Jeff Hughes joined Omnifone as Chief Executive in 2010 to accelerate the global expansion of Omnifone’s cloud-based digital music services. Since joining, Jeff has overseen rapid growth as a result of new global partnerships and subsequent service launches, the development of new business models and geographic expansion. Under his leadership, Jeff has focused the company on growing its partner base and increasing efficiency. This has resulted in the business moving into profit while maintaining an extraordinary growth rate. Jeff previously held the positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at BSkyB, one of the most successful media subscription companies in the world. Whilst there Jeff was a member of the company’s executive management group and oversaw technology operations. Jeff has also held senior positions at IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cambridge Technology Partners and Andersen Consulting.

  • David Finch

    Former O2 chief financial officer, David Finch joined the management team at Omnifone in 2013 to help facilitate the company’s aggressive growth strategy. David’s experience of delivering results and his track record as a finance leader in the mobile subscription sector perfectly complement Omnifone’s business model.

    Previously, David was part of the management team that demerged O2 from British Telecom in 2001, and then transformed it into one of the most successful subscription businesses in Europe. David was also instrumental in managing the sale of O2 to Telefónica in 2006, one of the largest cash merger and acquisition transactions ever completed in the UK. David joined Omnifone following a period of retirement which he embarked on in 2007 after the completion of the acquisition.

    Before joining O2, David held senior finance roles at a number of organisations across various sectors including brewing, food manufacturing, lightside building materials manufacturing, logistics and freight forwarding. David trained and qualified as a chartered accountant at Arthur Andersen where he spent five years.

  • Phil Sant

    Phil Sant is Chief Engineer and co-founder of Omnifone. Sant has a history of repeat entrepreneurship in the technology sector. From being a brilliant young software engineer at Rolls Royce, where he cut his skills heading up pioneering computer aided manufacture software development, to forming, at the age of only 23, the famous Compaq Tiger Team which tore across Europe optimising call centre systems. In that team he met Mark Knight and together with Rob Lewis they embarked upon a series of successful businesses which included the award-winning BladeRunner platform in 1995 and Silicon.com in 1998. After selling the BladeRunner platform through a bold FTSE reverse take-over in 1999, Phil was then awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young UK Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology & Communications in June 2000. A brief sabbatical followed, but he returned in 2003 with Knight and Lewis to form Omnifone and create MusicStation, an award-winning cloud-based digital platform which now underpins the music offerings of such music giants as Sony. Despite such business success, Phil remains an engineer at heart and in 2008 was, jointly with Mark Knight, awarded Oracle Magazine Editor’s Choice Award’s Embedded Architect of the Year.

  • Mark Knight

    Mark Knight is Chief Architect and co-founder of Omnifone. Throughout his career, Knight has consistently pioneered new technologies within the software marketplace. Whilst studying Computer Science with Economics, in 1983, he developed in his award-winning project a method for embedding data compression within an operating system which predated commercial implementations by many years. In 1987 he authored and marketed Jotter, the world's first commercial word processor for a portable device. In the early nineties, whilst working with Phil Sant on high-end database optimisation, he met Rob Lewis and together they engaged upon a series of successful businesses. In 1995 he architected and developed BladeRunner, an business internet application platform and which was used to develop Silicon.com in 1998. Having sold his share in their BladeRunner platform, via a bold FTSE reverse take-over in 1999, Mark then took a few years off to start a family and collect his thoughts. He returned in 2003 with Sant and Lewis to form Omnifone and create MusicStation, the award-winning cloud-based digital music platform which was released in 2007 and now underpins the music offerings of industry giants such as Sony.

  • Rob Lewis

    Rob Lewis is Non-Executive Director of Omnifone, responsible for high level global relationships with the company's key stakeholders. An Omnifone co-founder and CEO for the past six years, Lewis is a 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and was named PwC UK Technology, Innovation & Growth Awards Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008. Rob was also named a Mobile Entertainment magazine Top 50 mobile content executive and a Mobile magazine Power 50 executive in 2008, as well as a Billboard magazine Top 10 Mobile Music Executive in 2007.
    Rob previously founded Business & Technology Magazine (sold to Dennis Publishing) and along with Omnifone co-founders Phil Sant and Mark Knight, founded the successful internet software developer Cromwell Media (sold to InterX for £850m in March 2000) and was founder CEO of Silicon.com (sold to NASDAQ-listed CNET Networks) and its sister companies Paris-based Silicon.fr and Munich-based Silicon.de.

  • Michael Sofaer

    Michael Sofaer joined the Omnifone board in 2007 as a Non-Executive Director. He is also Founder, Managing Director and Principal at Sofaer Capital Inc. Mr. Sofaer was employed at Sofaer Global Hedge Fund in 1987, at Sofaer Asian Hedge Fund in 1989 and at Sofaer Global Opportunities Fund in 2009. Prior to this, he was a Securities Analyst at Schroder Investment Management Limited in London and then headed up its research department in Hong Kong. He has also been a Non-Executive Director of Gable Holdings Inc. since February 2011 and currently serves as a Director of Sofaer Capital Inc., GTI Group LLC, Gamma Telecom Ltd. and Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd. He also served as a Non-Executive Director of RIT Capital Partners PLC from 1999 to November 20, 2008.

    Paul Jones heads up Omnifone’s legal team and joined the company’s board in mid-2010. Prior to joining the company, Paul spent many years advising Omnifone on legal matters as Partner and Head of Music Practice at leading Law Firm Harbottle & Lewis. Paul has over a decade’s specialist music industry experience. Advising major and independent record labels, music publishers, recording artists, songwriters and TV and film productions companies on a broad range of commercial matters, his emphasis has been on online and mobile distribution channels. Jones has also worked in-house as Director of Legal & Business Affairs at Polydor Records and in private practice. He was also a founding partner of boutique music firm Smiths-Law LLP.

  • Steve Pocock

    Steve Pocock joined Omnifone in 2003 and as CTO runs the company’s Research & Development arm after working with Omnifone’s founders at InterX. Pocock has been at the forefront of software engineering for nearly two decades, having worked on advanced projects for the Ministry of Defence, and several Cambridge and Silicon Valley-based internet start-ups. At graphics software firm GDS, Pocock led the development of complex raster and satellite imaging functionality for the company's industry leading vector graphics CAD/GIS product. In the mid-90s, Pocock worked at Cambridge start-up Persimmon IT, aiding the development of multiple early stage internet technologies. Pocock is an Astronomy and Physics graduate from University College London.

  • Doug Imrie

    As Chief Operating Officer at Omnifone, Doug Imrie is responsible for the rollout and management of Omnifone’s services for all of our partners internationally. Doug oversees the day to day running of Omnifone’s business development, account management, partner deliveries including client development and operations functions. Prior to Omnifone, Doug managed his own consultancy firm, working in a variety of roles including the Interim VP for Early Customer Lifecycle within Sky Deutschland where he was responsible for driving operational and technical process improvements across the organisation and as general manager at the UK IT distribution company Northamber PLC. Doug also worked in a variety of roles for BskyB including technical and operations director at BSkyB’s pay-TV service Picnic and prior to that, as the head of marketing operations and planning.

  • David Loiterton

    David Loiterton heads up the commercialisation of Omnifone’s services across Asia Pacific. David is one of the most experienced entertainment executives in Asia with 20 years in the business. His experiences range from artist management; recorded music; music publishing; live entertainment; marketing and A&R; online & mobile entertainment; and video games. Originally a Sydney-based lawyer, Loiterton worked in artist management with superstar rock band INXS for 7 years in the mid-80's, helped set up and then ran rooArt Records, Australia's premier independent record label in the early 90's, and built BMG's Asia Pacific music publishing business in the mid-90's. Loiterton also founded Gogo.com in 1999, a 360 degree online music company pioneering online A&R, artist communities and CRM. In 2002, he joined Universal Music to run their strategic marketing & sales across Asia, including catalogue, brand partnerships, and new format development. He joined the Omnifone team in October 2006.

  • Dean Bolte

    Dean Bolte, based in Los Angeles, is responsible for the expansion of Omnifone’s services into the world’s largest music market. He manages the US offices, working with existing and potential customers that are based in the North America, as well as assisting with our international partners who have a large presence in North and South America. Prior to joining Omnifone he spent time building US based operations in the on-line kids and family game space.
